Covid-19 sero-study on healthcare staff underway
The JJ Group of Hospitals and Eyebetes Foundation have collaborated to conduct a sero-prevalence study on frontline healthcare workers. The study gauges the prevalence of the novel and presence of antibodies to the coronavirus.
The ongoing survey involves the participation of 800 healthcare employees, including doctors, nurses and frontline workers employed at, St Georges Hospital and GT Hospital.
Since June 23, the team led by Dr Beldar, Dr Mohta along with Dr Nishant Kumar, a Fulbright scholar and founding trustee of Eyebetes have been analysing samples collected from the participants. The CLIA-based antibody test developed by Roche involves the participation of JJ Hospital, which is a non-Covid hospital, and dedicated Covid facilities St Georges Hospital and GT Hospital.
